byu luau 2010

Tuesday and Wednesday was BYU Luau! Rehearsals began back in January so I was very excited for the day to finally arrive. I loved the theme for this year - He Huaka'i Aloha - A Journey of Love and Sacrifice. The show was about the journey of the restored gospel to all the islands of the pacific. Don't want to sound corny or anything, but hearing the stories of how each these early islander saints received and accepted the gospel totally strengthened my testimony of Jesus Christ. I loved having a theme that was so meaningful - it was beautiful.

I danced in the New Zealand and Tonga sections and was also asked to MC the show. I had a great experience!

The show was so good this year because of the amazingly talented instructors of each section. Great job guys

Aaafter the show - so happy the show was OVER and was such a success!

Participating in Luau was a great experience for me. It was a little weekly exercise and a sweet small diversion doing something I enjoy. It was also nice to spend time with some friends I don't get to see everyday. I'll always love dancing and performing and am grateful for this opportunity to be part of something so fun.

And this was taken this morning after Malia and Kina found the bag with my costumes in it.
Love it!!

the princesses and the frog

Last Friday, we decided to take the girls to their first movie. The Princess and the Frog was playing at the campus theater for only a buck a ticket so we took advantage! Wayne's sister, Kina joined us with Ita and Vai and surprised all the little girls with princess stuff to dress up in before we went to the movies. Everything was so cute!! The girls dressed up, we took pics, then we took off to the theater. We all loved the movie . . . everyone but little Kina. After the first five minutes of the movie, she preferred the lobby to the theater. Aargh! But seeing Malia's face and excitement made it all worth it. Afterward we had some ice cream. It was a fun family date!

The girls in their sashes, crowns, jewelry and scepters. ha ha So cute!

Each girl each had her own lip gloss. Kina ate hers.

A fun family date!
