jump on it, jump on it

Last week we went to a jumping gym. There were trampolines everywhere. After a few minutes of tentative tiptoeing around the tramps, Malia finally loosened up and started jumping. She's so light, however, it was hard to actually jump very high. Still, she had a lot of fun and was sleeping before we got home. I love jumping gyms.

le'o and kawika's wedding weekend

Le'o and Kawika's Dance

This last weekend was BUSY!! Wayne's sister, Le'o got married and we had a four day long celebration. It was so fun!

On Friday night, a wedding dance kicked off the festivities. The sisters, with the help of some friends, decorated the chapel beautifully. It looked like a Spring garden. There was a short program with the sisters doing a dance number and Wayne and his friends performing a lip sync. Our girl number was good, but I think the boys did even better. The highlight for me however, was the dessert table - it was FULL of all kinds of treats - cakes, cookies, puteni, faikakai, and strawberry pudding cake. . .am I making you hungry yet? he he. All made for a very nice evening.

le'o and kawika's reception

Saturday was Leo and Kawika's wedding reception. I'm so mad at my camera! These pics don't do justice to how sweet the reception was. It was a gorgeous backyard of a gorgeous big house. . . there was even a babbling brook going through it. After eating there was a short program and after the program there was dancing. It really was a beautiful party.

We were in charge of the GUESTBOOK!! We took everyone's picture as they were coming in.

Le'o chose white for everyone to wear. An all-white line is something I've never seen before, but I thought it looked BEAUTIFUL - pure, clean, and simple.

the dance floor

I found these little white dresses for Malia and Kina at Gap earlier that day. They were 75% off!!!! Needless to say, I was ecstatic.

the girls doing their number

Malia was playing around in the dressing room with the girls and found this. She put it on her self. Oh dear.

le'o and kawika's wedding

On Monday, after a fun weekend of wedding festivities, Leo and Kawika were sealed in the Provo Temple. Their sealer was Bro. Dan Anderson, a former BYUH President and current member of the Latu's ward. He did an amazing job. He was witty, spiritual and wise in his counsel and speaking. I love that they got married in Provo - it was really nice to just travel 5 minutes instead of an hour.PLUS, because there aren't a lot of weddings there it seemed even more special. Afterward, we took pictures on the temple grounds and I have to say, I never realized how beautiful the Provo temple is. The grounds are gorgeous!

It was sooo HOT while we were waiting for the couple to come out. The little girls were the only smart ones and cooled themselves off in the fountain.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Hafoka. They looked so happy.

The whole familia. These pics are from Leo's photographer. I think she did an awesome job.

Sweet Kina fell asleep during the picture taking.

Tali kept Malia busy. Because she was so hot and tired she was uh, not quite the best picture taker unfortunately.

Beautiful sisters. I love this pic.

sun shine blue skies

The sun was shining today and we took advantage. We went to the park! Ahh, I love summer!!!

The hit of the day? Definitely the swings. If I had let them, they would have stayed on those things all day, all night and all day again. Gotta love the swings.

happy mother's day!

I am blessed to know a lot of amazing moms. Some have been mother's for many many years, and some have been mother's for only months. They are examples and inspiration to me. For Mother's day I wanted to pay tribute to two of the special mother's in my life - my mom and Wayne's mom.

me, my mom and her mom, my grandma Peggy

Wayne and his mom, Vai

I can't write everything I admire about these women, but I'll just say that these two moms are amazing examples to me. My mom brought us up on dried bananas, homemade bread and powdered milk - she was thrifty and knew how to stretch a dollar. Wayne's mom sewed her children's clothes and baked everything (she still makes the BOMB chocolate chip cookies). I know they both sacrificed a lot to be moms. They have been active and strong in their goals and testimonies. I love you both! Happy Mother's Day!

mata's bridal shower

I walked into this shower and thought I had read the invitation wrong. It looked like a reception! It was beautiful. Wayne's pretty cousin, Mata, is getting married next month and her family threw her the bomb shower. There was a waffle bar, tongan food AND a candy table. We played some games and ate a lot.

Mata and Kina

so pretty, huh

wolverine!!!

Tonight, Wayne took me out to see Wolverine. I looooved it!! There was a good story, a lot of action, a little comedy and some questions answered from the first X-men movie. Plus, I guess you could say I have a thing for Hugh Jackman.

Can you blame me? he he

After the movie we picked up Malia and Kina from their Grandma's house. They were all bathed, lotioned, dressed in their jammies, ready for bed and eating chocolate. Only at Grandmas house, right? he he. Thanks for watching them Vai!

papa date to the aquarium

Did you know there was an aquarium in Sandy? I know! Me neither!!!

There is one and it's HUGE!! We went yesterday for our papa date and Malia thoroughly enjoyed it. "Fish", "water" and "look" are three words Malia can say well and she used them a lot as she looked at all the tanks and discovered the fish swimming around inside.

Malia and papa

This has nothing to do with fish, but I have to say it - I LOVE MY DOUBLE STROLLER!!! It's an absolute LIFESAVER. he he

It was fun to see Kina exploring too

This was by FAR Malia's favorite thing. It was a petting pool with Sting Ray's. The kids could actually TOUCH them. Very cool.

Kina got in touch with her Polynesian heritage and discovered how her ancestors traveled waay back when.

Wheeeeeeere's Malia?

The aquarium was awesome. I actually enjoyed it a lot - and I was kinda preparing myself to be uninterested. I'm so grateful for these cool things we get to do. Honestly, if it wasn't for the papa dates I probably would never get around to doing them. I love them because of it's educational value for Malia - not only is she learning about fish, but she's also learning her papa loves her.
