BYU game, ikea and a fundraiser

I knew it was gonna be a good Saturday when BYU pulled off the most amazing win against Washington. After a last minute touchdown that would tie the score with the point after field goal, BYU BLOCKED THE KICK!! It was awesome. BYU won 28-27. I watched the game in my home and jumped up and screamed when I saw it the winning play. The Deseret News' front page caught the same moment at the game as Wayne rushed the field. . .
GO COUGS!!

After the game, my mom, Shan, David, Malia and I headed up to town. We stopped first at Ikea. I just got 3 words for ya. . . I HEART IKEA. For real, I could contently live for many years on a totally deserted island. . . if there were just an Ikea there. . . and Wayne. . . and Malia and Kina. . . okay, I'm getting off subject. Anyways, we walked around the showroom for a bit - I was looking for a new duvet cover and some furniture for the nursery. I found both and Malia had a blast playing on their cute and colorful toys.

Lastly, we stopped at a Luau fundraiser being held for Paul Alusa. He is married to our close family friend, Julie Folau (her mom, Leslie, is my mom's best friend). Paul was in a rugby accident a few months ago and sustained some injuries to his head. His family held this luau to raise funds to help pay for the hospital bills etc. They sure know how to throw a party! There was great food by Pauni Catering, an entertaining program, good music, an auction and a LOT of people.

Tali, Lene and Sili danced a couple Hawaiian and Tahitian numbers. They were the bomb.

As a side note - they really want to be models so if anyone knows of a good modeling agency. . . please let them know!

Julie's brother, Chris, wowed everyone with his skills on the bike. Honestly, every trick he did made my heart stop I was so scared - but, of course, he never fell. He was amazing - he was jumping all over these small platforms and doing crazy tricks that didn't seem humanly possible. It was tight.

Later, the Moleni Brothers and Jake Kongaika from Cub World - two of my favorite groups - sang. They were great.

The event raised $10,000 for Paul and Julie. Woohoo! - a huge success!

Wow, that's awesome for the fundraiser. I heart IKEA too! But I try not to go there too often because I get distracted and start buying things I never planned on buying.

Love that pic of Wayne, btw. Lol, his expression says it all!
