Born to Swim

Malia had her first experience with SWIMMING! Last weekend we went up to our friends, the Seamons, pool. It was a gorgeous day - perfect for swimming. It took Malia about 3 minutes to get comfortable in the water and the rest of the time she was splashing, giggling and loving every second of it. The Roy kids - Taylor, Jared and McKenna - were helpful in being her motor so she could zoom quickly around the pool - she loved it. It was hilarious. Her favorite things to do were to recline in her little chair, bite all the pool toys she could get her hands on, and splash water in her face - it startled her each time, but she kept at it!

I can already tell this will be one of our favorite summer activities!

How fun! I think Malia had fun at the party... there were some kids around her age. Carlos and I go swimming all the time (we got 7 peaks passes and sometimes go to the Willowbrook pool where we live). You should come over sometime.

Spencer loves swimming too! I'm tell you, Spencer and Malia are supposed to grow up in Hawaii so they can swim year-round in warm weather. Now if we can only convince our husbands... Hahaha

Mary, Malia is so cute. it's so awesome to have a water-loving baby. I just read your post about your pregnancy and I wanted to say that I'm so impressed by your strength. It is so hard to think of your child suffering, especially when you are helpless to do anything about it. But you seem to be handling it so well, and I think that's amazing. I know God will bless you and your family because of your faith as a mother. You'll be in our prayers.
