HAWAII TRIP - we go beach?

We went to Hukilau the first day we arrived and of course, it was beautiful. However, the wind was blowing hard and the waves were huge (like they usually are) so it wasn't the best or most effective way to introduce a small baby like Malia to the beach for the first time. I didn't go in the water much because I was afraid we would both get pounded - but still she seemed to enjoy it a little bit. We brought the boogie boards so Wayne, Michael, Tali, Sili and Kika all got some good waves and a lot of good sun.

The next day I got smarter and we visited Clissolds instead. It was beautiful - calm water, just a slight breeze and totally private. We were there with Ireen, Maggie and Harold and Kehaus kids and Malia had a BLAST. She kinda liked the salty taste of the water and thought the sand felt funny, I think. She enjoyed being bounced in the water and putting sand in her mouth.
Since Malia enjoyed the water so much, my dad brought the beach home for her and got her a little pool for the front yard at ACE (his home away from home). She swims in it everyday - it's the perfect way to cool off.

While we've been here, we have tried to take full advantage of the beautiful beaches nearby and have gone almost every single day. The Beach is definitely something I will miss in the hot Utah desert.
