happy easter!

I haven't dyed Easter eggs since I was a kid.  I always enjoyed it, but once there weren't any children in the house we just never went through the whole dye ritual.  Because my uncles and gramma were in town for Easter, they were determined to create a memorable Easter experience for the kiddies.  They got a million different kinds of dyes, paints, stickers, and tools and they also filled plastic eggs with a million different kinds of candy.  It all made for a WONDERFUL Easter - We spent the morning dyeing eggs, then had a huge hunt in our back yard.  Needless to say, the kids LOVED it . . . and it was definitely the most memorable Easter I've had in a very long time.

Our house was packed with people and honestly, out of the children and the adults, I don't know who was more excited about the egg dyeing .
Gramma Peggy helping Kina pick out colors for her egg.

The winner of "the most creative egg" contest - a Matsumoto's shave ice by David.  Joe's matryoshka Russian doll egg was a close second.

Michael was really excited about making a special Rastafarian colored egg and spent a good twenty minutes trying to get all his colors juust right. And when it was just about done to exact perfection, he dropped the egg in a big cup of pink dye. Kalofie Michael! Haha

There was about a hundred eggs hidden by the uncles all over the backyard and the kids had so much fun finding them.  The  girls totally got the whole "hunt" thing this year and quickly filled their baskets before opening any eggs to eat the candy.

The Zukin/Alisa/Latu/Hafoka family - Easter 2011.  I love my family!

This year the bar was set high for our Easter celebrations.  Thank you Uncles!!  I'm excited to carry on this fun tradition - yes, for the kids. . . but mostly for the adults! Haha
